If you’re unfamiliar, MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course. It’s a free online collaborative course that large numbers of people can sign up for. It’s kind of like World of Warcraft for education, only it’s free and you replace killing with learning (I recommend a proper explanation from the guy who helped coin the term.).…

We’ve cleared the “donated” heap of detritus
I helped load a truck from Just PCs today. Full, to the roof and walls and door of the truck. Several cubic metres of old (very old) IT “stuff” from “my” school in Athlone. This included 20+ computers from corporate donors that have subsequently sat – unused – in a classroom for a whole year (amid other apparently ”valuable” stuff like >5 year old laser-printer husks). …
