Declaration Week in MultiMOOC: Outing your voice in Posterous

At http://goodbyegutenberg.pbworks.com/w/page/61342031/Week2_Declare_2013 I’m poised to set some specs on what we should be doing this week and next for the Declare and Network weeks of our EVO session MultiMOOC (which, if not a MOOC, is at least an exploration of MOOCs). Excerpt:

Two announcements this week suggest that MOOCs — massive open online courses — will increasingly include a route for students to receive academic credit.

Georgia State University announced Tuesday that it will start to review MOOCs for credit much like it reviews courses students have taken at other institutions, or exams they have taken to demonstrate competency in certain areas.…

Contagious Learning

My two children want to know why I want them to steer clear of water fountains and high touch museums right now, and I explain about the flu coursing through our communities, and how quickly things spread when we all share the same physical space.…

MOOCs for Credit from State Universities: MOOC2Degree from Academic Partnerships

An Academic Partnerships program called MOOC2Degree takes existing programs that offered online (but not as MOOCs) and are fully accredited through their host institutions, and makes the first course into a MOOC — open to all and free, but awarding credit to those who complete successfully.…

Blogging, Content Curation and a statue

We are coming to the end of the summer break and what a rather warm summer break it has been. As a result of that I am a bit behind with ETMOOC – well a bit behind where I would like to be in the days before I have actual commitments during the day.…
