ETMOOC: My introduction
One Small Step For An Expert, One Giant Leap For A Novice
Maybe this is a better title for the #etmooc experience?
I enjoyed listening to Alec during last night’s event: Introduction to Connected Learning. He always builds a strong case for connected learning with quotes, stories and ideas from others.
Whenever Alec shows a picture of one of his children ‘playing’ with technology I just wonder what they are capable of doing with technology in general. …
Sitting in a Starbucks
I’m sitting in a Starbucks thinking about PLNs.
When i am waiting to pick up my husband at work, sometimes I am early. There is a little strip mall- Canadian Tire centre – whatever one may call it. Inside there is a Starbucks.…
Connected Learning. Collective Action.
How do we turn a participation map into a “collective impact” map?
I’m one more than 1600 people who have joined the Education Technology Mooc (#ETMOOC) since last Monday. I’ll be participating in the National Mentoring Summit in Washington, DC this Thursday and Friday where more than 500 people will be connected in the same building and for the same purpose.…

A new experience for a new year…
I have finally done it! I have joined my first ever MOOC and so far the experience has been amazing. The only thing that will get in the way is ‘time management’ but I have a plan.
I started off well with this intro that I posted on the ETMOOC Community:
“Hi everyone!…
Instructional Design & MOOCs: A Perfect Storm
Larnaca, meet the MOOCs; MOOC’s, meet Lamarca. I almost forgot about this post/share, “Quick review of the Larnaca Learning Design Declaration,” from OLDaily in drafts. Forgetting about drafts happens way too often but could be serendipity this time, pairing up for comparison with Geof Cain’s Brainstorm in Progress post, “MOOCs: Why Do We need Instructional Design?…
Blogging About Blogging
After tonight’s session, “Intro to Blogging” I feel much less intimidated and learned a great deal about the purpose of blogging. I now see blogging as yet another way to learn. By reflecting I am learning, changing how I think. By reading blogs I am learning, reflecting and changing how I think.…
