Digital Story (6 words)

This is such a broad topic. I used to project a photo and play music (sometimes it went with the phone sometimes it did not) in my classroom as a prep to what we were going to be doing that day and have them write what ever came to mind. They were on the laptops and would create stories, back stories, stories that were about to take place. My favorite was always the stories that were in the moment. Mainly because a snapshot can show so many different things, and depending on your mindset at the moment when you look at the photo, that photo’s world can take a drastic change.

Back Story …. A little over a year ago, I took up running. Really I know, completely out of nowhere. I trained for 5K’s and such. Then I met a few “all-star” Olympians and athletes that inspired me to try things I never would image. A half marathon and even a marathon. Thus I kept working at it. I know I am not the fastest, nor am I the most skilled runner. See I have two reconstructed legs from birth – I believe I have more metal, plates, screws and such in my legs than actual bone and organic material. I was kid in school that had to get a doctors note each semester because everyone one was in fear that if I participated in physical fitness or sports I may cause unnecessary wear on my legs. So needless to say when I turned 35 I decided why not. My feet and legs have held up this long, and with science now if I injury them, they can fix me right? right!

In November 2011, I ran my first half marathon. Here is a Digital Story (in six words):
