etmooc… Happy to be here!

First off, I’m someone who loves to learn all the time. For example, last weekend I learned how to use a sewing machine. Santa brought my boys (8 & 10) guinea pigs and so we began researching our new family members. Turns out you can make guinea pig bedding made of fleece and an old towel. So out came there sewing machine. Voila!

Aside from being a mom and newbie seamstress, I’m also the principal for an amazing k-6 elementary school in northern California. It’s my second year and after fourteen years in the classrooms it’s been a remarkable adjustment period, to say the least.

Inasmuch as I constantly encourage my colleagues to be learners along side their students, I know that it can be uncomfortable. I think the learning curve has a space of discomfort that’s good for us. This mooc experience will be a stretch for me, and I’m looking forward to it.
