University of North Carolina-Wilmington, a partner of Academic Partnerships, hosted the Global Learning Technology Conference (GLTC) on October 10th and 11th, 2013. This conference provided an opportunity for those working or teaching in the Instructional Design and Technology field to learn new tools, strategies, and network with one another.

I presented a hands-on workshop entitled, “Innovative Strategies for Online Student Engagement & Success.” The attendees downloaded YouTube Capture and practiced creating a video, uploading the video, and copying the embedded code in order to place an introduction video in an LMS. The attendees also downloaded JING and explored how to provide feedback to students through a free screen casting tool.

Patricia M. Gonzalez, Director of e-Learning at UNCW said about the conference,

“The Office of e-Learning staff was excited and pleased to see so many educators and administrators gathered in our town. It was a productive two days of sharing and exploring ideas! We hope all attendees were able to take home some inspiration and new techniques that can be applied immediately at many institutions and K-12 classrooms.”

Congratulations to the Office of e-Learning and UNCW for a great conference!
