My 1st DECA Event is a Winner

The Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association held its state competition on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Strawberry Square in Harrisburg, PA. As co-adviser for DCTS‘s DECA chapter, I had the privilege of taking several students to help facilitate with the festivities. We set up the tables and food in a systematic fashion.  I served as a judge and the students were timers and food runners. The event ran smoothly. It was exciting to be a part of the event and to see the competitive juices flowing — the crowd was hyped. What was most exciting was feeling at home despite being 90+ miles away — my family and I grocery shop at one of the stores who participated, Henning’s.
