Dr. Melissa Kaulbach, Vice President, Academic Services, had the opportunity to interview Dr. Andrew Rice of Queens’ College at The University of Cambridge on his experience teaching computer programming courses online.

“Many people think that certain disciplines and courses cannot effectively be facilitated online; however, Dr. Rice has taught Java and Prolog programming courses online successfully,” said Dr. Kaulbach.

Dr. Rice discusses this unique experience of how to ensure deep learning in online courses, even in disciplines that seem difficult to teach online. Additionally, he explains the structure, design, and delivery of his courses that enabled him and his students to have fruitful online course experiences.
