Academic Partnerships (AP) has officially opened the application process for round one of its 2016 Faculty Research Grant Program to promote continued advancement in online learning best practices.

The program offers faculty or staff members from institutions working with AP-supported programs the opportunity to apply for grants to fund research that could promote understanding about the efficacy, efficiency and inherent value of online degree programs. Primary research focus areas include course facilitation (faculty-student interaction); instructional technology; competency-based learning; and a newly introduced special topic, an opportunity for faculty to pilot a course innovation featuring ApprenNet, a video collaboration tool promoting practice, peer interaction, self-reflection and mentoring.

Since the inception of the Faculty Research Grant Program in 2012, AP has awarded $300,000 in grant funds to more than 90 faculty at more than 20 universities in the United States. AP accepts proposals twice a year, during spring and fall, from faculty or staff members at AP partner institutions.
