Student Blogging Challenge

This year I am a mentor for the edublogs Student Blogging Challenge, it is the first time I have been involved, and I am looking forward to it, although I have a lot of posts to read. I have been assigned 29 students from the United States and Trinidad and Tobago; it is interesting how similar their interests are. I guess just junior high kids are the same all over the world.

Week two of the challenge has just started, it’s a freedom week which means that students can pick the topic to write about. I like how even though there isn’t a set topic Miss W. has provided lots of ideas for students to choose from. Tt can be hard to think of something to write about with an empty editing window in front of you.

Here are the student blogs I have been assigned, please visit them and leave comments:
Emily from the USA likes square dancing and hanging out with friends.
Doug from the USA likes sports and drawing.
Ellie from the USA likes volleyball and hanging out with friends
Megan is from Trinidad and likes drawing and writing poems/short stories.
Kemala from Trinidad and likes dancing and singing.
Austin lives in the USA and likes football and playing guitar.

Caitlyn is from Trinidad and Tobago and likes drawing and anime.
Joshua is from the USA and likes sports and videogames.
Esther is from Trinidad and Tobago and likes dancing and singing.
Karisma is from Trinidad and likes acting and writing.

There are four blogs I haven’t commented on yet. Two students haven’t written any posts at all, so there is nothing to attach a comment to (I would love to comment and offer them some encouragement to start) and I don’t have blog addresses for two of the students I have been assigned. Dominique is from Trinidad and Tobago and she likes dancing and modeling. Tina is from Trinidad and likes volleyball and music. Kayla is from Trinidad and likes football and wrestling; Christine is also from Trinidad and Tobago and likes golf and reading; I don’t have either of their blog addresses.

Let the blogging continue.
