Whiteboard Animation Videos

Recently, I have seen many presentations where it looks like an artist is drawing during the presentation.  I absolutely love these videos and have become somewhat obsessed with wanting to learn how to make one myself.
Below are some examples that I have recently made.…

안녕하세요 – A new beginning…

I haven’t blogged for over a month because I have been so excited about our adventure to… drum roll please… South Korea!

This is the view from the roof of our school: Taejeon Christian International School in Daejeon Techno Valley. My gorgeous talented husband will be teaching Music in the High School and I will be teaching elementary – grade level is to be decided at a later date.…

How Can We Crowdsource Our Digital Learning?

In this podcast I discuss how I’m looking at aggregating all of the images shared during digital learning day on Twitter.

I will be publishing the set later today, but I’m intrigued by this idea of crowd sourcing what classroom practice looks like on a grand scale and then using the results to analyze and to understand what the new face of learning truly looks like.…

Bell Hooks on Paradise in the Classroom.

This may be a popular quote to some, but it was new to me. I’m intrigued by the idea of a classroom as a potential paradise. It begs the question, “Is your classroom a paradise?”

Original Post from Leslie Lindsey:

I’m thinking of the popular bell hooks quote: “The academy is not paradise.

New research on Lectures from Grant Wiggins (UbD)

I’m intrigued by the idea of where lecture fits (if anywhere) in a blended classroom. Looking at this research makes me want to dig in. Is flipping another form of lecture?

Original Post from Doug Holton:

Grant Wiggins’ (backward design, understanding by design) thoughts on the use of lectures

I recently wrote that Understanding by Design is agnostic about any specific method or pedagogy.

Reflections of my #ETMOOC experience

In January last year, I signed up for an unforgettable experience with the Educational Technology & Media Massive Open Online Course, or ETMOOC for short. I deliberately use the word ‘unforgettable’ because, 12 months later, ETMOOC is still in my life through Google + and my personal learning network on Twitter.…
