Making Blogging Count

The University of Dundee seems to be making its voice heard about glow and so it should! It’s here, let’s use it. But, it made me start to think about why I personally have got into blogging so much when some of the professionals around me just don’t want to?

I just finished making my first video recording and it was quite an ordeal. Being the kind of person who even stumbles over leaving a message on voice mail, this assignment for my online communications course definitely pushed me outside my comfort zone.

Lights.  Camera.  Action!

Let me begin by saying that there are maybe 5 photographs of myself that I can tolerate so making a video was far beyond my comfort zone.  I think it took twenty takes to produce something I considered acceptable.

I do acknowledge that their is merit in producing introductory videos in a virtual classroom environment.

AP Faculty Research Grant Program Accepting Applications

Academic Partnerships (AP) has officially opened the application process for round one of its 2016 Faculty Research Grant Program to promote continued advancement in online learning best practices.

The program offers faculty or staff members from institutions working with AP-supported programs the opportunity to apply for grants to fund research that could promote understanding about the efficacy, efficiency and inherent value of online degree programs.
